Goalscorer Kenny McLean insisted Norwich City deserved victory over champions Manchester City.
The injury-hit Canaries put in a remarkable display from minute one to defeat Pep Guardiola's side and McLean was full of praise for the mentality he and his teammates showed throughout.
Speaking to canaries.co.uk, he said: "It was a thoroughly deserved three points and one we knew we were capable of against unbelievable opposition.
"We know how good we are in that changing room. There was a lot of talk through the week about the injuries and the task that we had ahead of us, but within the changing room, we knew whoever was on that pitch would have given everything for the shirt and for the fans.
"That's what happened and we got our just rewards. The manager [Daniel Farke] has a squad together that he's confident in whoever plays will step up to the plate.
"That was Sam Byram's first game for us, apart from the cup, and he was outstanding. Tetts [Alex Tettey] came in like he'd never left, and he made my life so much easier – he was unbelievable today.
"Ibrahim [Amadou] coming in with his first start as well – it was just a real squad performance. It was excellent to be a part of but I think for everyone involved with the Club, it's one to cherish."
