Glazers hand Solskjaer greater Man Utd powers

Manchester United's owners have expanded the powers of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Glazers feel United's struggles in recent years is down to the fact it's not been Sir Alex Ferguson heading the structure of the club, reports The Athletic.

And that could explain why they're giving Solskjaer some luxuries the likes of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho weren't afforded.

Previous managers have had to contend with Woodward having the final say on all transfers - whether they like it or not.

Mourinho didn't want Sanchez or Fred, while Van Gaal had an issue with the loan signing of Radamel Falcao.

Solskjaer, however, is working in tandem with vice-chairman Ed Woodward as the club plot a route back to the top.
