Gladbach chief Eberl: We want to buy Oxford - and he wants to leave West Ham

Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl insists Reece Oxford could yet return.

The defender has been recalled to West Ham United by manager David Moyes after cutting his loan short at Gladbach.

However, Eberl insists Oxford could still be back in time for the resumption of the Bundesliga.

He explained: "We were informed this morning that they drew the appropriate clause in the loan agreement and took him back.

"We are still talking with West Ham with the goal for Reece Oxford to sign permanently. This is also in line with the wishes of the player who would very much like to stay with Borussia."

Indeed, in England it is also stated Oxford has already informed Hammers chiefs he wants to return to Gladbach since joining in training on Thursday.
