Giuseppe Rossi is returning to Manchester United.

The former United striker, now 31, is a free agent after being released by Genoa.

He has been in America recently working on his fitness levels after his Genoa contract expired.

Rossi is looking for a new club during the January transfer window and PA Sport reports will train with Manchester United.

Rossi became good friends with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer during his time in Manchester from 2004 to 2007.
