Giuseppe Iachini has been named new coach of Empoli.

Iachini replaces Aurelio Andreazzoli, who was sacked this week.

The Tuscan side yesterday sacked the man won them promotion last season, on the day of his 65th birthday.

"Empoli FC announces that it has entrusted the technical guidance of the first team to Giuseppe Iachini," a statement on the club's website read.

“The new coach will be presented to the Press this afternoon at 14.00pm in the Antonio Bassi room of the Stadio Castellani."
