I can reveal Santos have accepted a €30 million offer from Leicester City for their talented and much-courted striker Gabriel Barbosa Almeida. If this name doesn't sound familiar to you, I'm sure you won't have problems anymore if I tell you that his nickname is Gabigol.

Now 20 years old, Gabigol is taking part with Brazil at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro where, besides, they are achieving less then what was expected, being considered the natural favorites of the competition.

Until a few days ago, Gabigol was at the centre of a real Italian derby between Juventus and Inter Milan; but Leicester have definitively messed up the games and the plans of the Serie A teams with an offer to Santos - and moving directly with the player to spark his availability and enthusiasm.

Claudio Ranieri has spoken personally with Gabriel's father, who is enthusiastic about the project of the Foxes. The idea of Ranieri is to have a strike-duo of Jamie Vardy and Gabigol, with Riyad Mahrez on the wing to support them. This project is being built in order to make a good impression in the Champions League.

Gabigol now will have to decide between Inter and Leicester, but the champions of England seem to be one step further ahead.

LIVERPOOL STILL IN PAREDES CONTACT

Another one that has slipped under the radar: Liverpool have offered €18 million to Roma for their talented Argentinian midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Roma refused, but the impression is that, if they raise the offer to €20-22 million the deal could be sealed.

And, at that point, Roma will go in for Borja Valero, of Fiorentina.
