Giroud delighted with big spending Chelsea moves: Good!

Olivier Giroud has welcomed the aggressive summer recruiting at Chelsea.

Former RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech, from Ajax, have arrived for big money - with more additions on their way.

Giroud enthused to L'Equipe: "I will be clear, this arrival is an additional motivation and it was inevitable that the club would recruit a striker. Chelsea are a great club, spending money to strengthen the team, and I expected someone to come.

"With Ziyech and Werner, Chelsea will try to be more competitive. Good!

"Afterwards, if you had told me that it was a player of my profile who was going to arrive, I would have been worried. But I am not naive: Werner did not arrive to sit on the bench. But I will do everything to ensure that (manager Frank) Lampard finds himself in a complex situation when he has to make his choice."
