Gimnasia La Plata President Gabriel Pellegrino says a friendly with Napoli is set to be arranged.

Napoli legend Diego Maradona was appointed coach of the Argentine club.

“We'd been asking for some time if Diego could do well with us and we asked an intermediary if he was available," Pellegrino told Radio CNN.

“There is great enthusiasm and we are sure that we can give him everything he needs.

"In fact, the moment the move was made official, Napoli called us to organise a friendly match or event."
