Tigres UANL striker André-Pierre Gignac has revealed how Marcelo Bielsa wanted to move him to Manchester United.
Gignac had a close relationship with the Leeds United manager when they worked together at Olympique Marseille.
And he says Bielsa thought so highly of him that he was determined to help him get a move to United three years ago.
"When I was out of contract with OM, he wanted me to sign for Manchester United. It was his goal for me," Gignac recalled to L'Equipe.
"He also wanted to galvanise me. He knew I loved MU. It's one of my favourite teams in Europe because of Ruud van Nistelrooy, whom I loved."
