Getafe loan signing Alena: Barcelona coach Koeman didn't let me down

Getafe loan midfielder Carles Alena insists there's no problems with Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman.

Alena was presented as a Getafe player on Monday along with Take Kubo, on-loan from Real Madrid, after their respective loan moves.

He said, “I don't think Koeman let me down, in the end there are players ahead of you and you have to be brave. I could have stayed at Barca but I needed minutes and (Jose) Bordalas put his confidence in me from the start.

“Bordalas only told me to play how I know, I have to work harder in defence. The confidence the coach put in me was what I needed for me to come here. I'm very grateful."

Alena is now reunited with his former Barca B team-mate Marc Cucurella.

“Cucurella spoke well of the club to me, I trust him a lot and I'm very happy," added Alena. “I want to feel like a player again, get the protagonism that I need. I'm in good shape."
