Getafe won the first-leg of their Europa League round of 32 tie 2-0 in Madrid last night.
Asked if he expected the result, Bordalas said: "Honestly no. We faced the most difficult team, a semifinalist of the Champions League and a top team. We always believe in what we do and the team played a great game."
On if it was the best game of his career, he added: "Fortunately I have been left very satisfied with many Getafe matches. I always tell the boys not to set limits. Today was a great game, we pleased a lot of people. I congratulate the players and the fans."
Asked if they were now favourites for the tie, Bordalas concluded: "It is still the Ajax without any doubt. They have fantastic offensive potential.
"We will enjoy this victory for a few hours and be aware that there are 94 minutes left against an opposition team."
