Aston Villa striker Rudy Gestede scored the only goal of the Capital One Cup win over Birmingham City and manager Tim Sherwood felt the 26-year-old will be happy with his performance.
Gestede was indifferent throughout but scored a brilliant header from Jordan Amavi's cross in the 62nd minute of the Second City derby as Villa progressed to the next stage of the cup competition.
Sherwood said: "I don't think he's bothered about how he played now. He's worried that he put the ball in the net - and it's the one that counted.
"I thought it was a mixed bag to be honest, if you're asking me.
"But I think Rudy would be happy with his contribution. I think the fans would be alright with it, too! "
