Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has congratulated the club on their Premier League triumph.

The Reds secured the first Premier League title win, and the first English league title in 30 years.

Their last success came in 1990, but Manchester City's defeat to Chelsea in midweek secured this triumph.

While Gerrard came close on a couple of occasions, he never won the league with his beloved Reds.

"Congratulations to all @liverpoolfc on winning the Premier League," the Rangers manager wrote on Instagram.

"Incredible achievement from a fantastic squad of top players. Led by a world class manager and coaching team also a special mention for the backing from FSG.

"And lastly and most importantly the fans who have waited 30 years. Let the party begin."
