Steven Gerrard has confirmed Rangers are in discussions to extend Ryan Kent's loan deal.

The 22-year-old starred for the Gers this season, but Kent's parent club Liverpool have demanded a £12m bid to make the deal permanent.

However, Gerrard remains hopeful he can convince his former club to loan the talented winger for another season.

"We're doing everything we can," Gerrard said.

"We've spoken to Liverpool, we're in touch with Ryan's representatives and we've made an offer.

"But there's nothing to say on it or to confirm it. For our supporters, what I can do is guarantee that I'm doing everything I can to get him in for another season."
