Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been ruled out of Wednesday's friendly encounter with England.

England prepare to square off against Germany in a friendly encounter at Dortmund on Wednesday night but the reigning World Champions will be without the services of their key gloveman Neuer due to a calf injury.

As a result, Neuer has stayed back in Munich with Bayern to treat the problem and either Bayer Leverkusen's Bernd Leno or Barcelona's Marc-Andre ter Stegen is expected to start between the posts in the game against the Three Lions.
