Flick wanted Chelsea lose at home to Manchester City via Gabriel Jesus' winner.
He was in attendance to see Chelsea's German trio Kai Havertz, Toni Rudiger and Timo Werner.
City's Germany international Ilkay Gundogan missed the game due to injury.
