German legend Oliver Kahn has rapped Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon for playing on this season.

Kahn believes Italy would be in the World Cup if Buffon had retired.

He told BILD: "It's not easy to know when to stop.

"If he had retired earlier, he would have prevented the elimination (of Italy) against Sweden and the last disappointment against Real Madrid.

"But he is motivated by the desire to always reach new records and by his dream of winning the Champions League."

Now 40, it's suggested Buffon is leaning towards playing on next season.
