The German Federation have made Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp a priority for the national team.
The Daily Star says they will snub Thomas Tuchel in favour of waiting for Klopp when it comes to appointing their next international boss.
Hansi Flick has been left clinging to his job following the Germans' embarrassing exit from the World Cup. The four-time champions have headed home after failing to get through the group stages of Qatar 2022 for the second time in succession.
The German FA are willing to stick with Flick for the time being, but accept he is not the long-term solution when it comes to making the team competitive again.
And despite Tuchel being available following his sacking by Chelsea in September, German FA president Bernd Neuendorf has made Klopp his No.1 choice to be the next boss.
Klopp signed a new deal with Liverpool in April that runs until 2026. But Neuendorf is willing to wait however long it takes to land Klopp.
