Genoa's 2-goal Goran Pandev delighted with victory over Napoli; ponders retirement

Genoa veteran Goran Pandev insists retirement is not set in stone after victory over Napoli.

Pandev, 37, struck both goals in the 2-1 win.

“I struggled a lot to recover from my last injury, but I am still enjoying myself and feel good. We'll see," he told DAZN.

“My thoughts are to retire after the Euros, but we don't know anything yet for sure."

Pandev scored his first Serie A brace since 2013, when it was for Napoli, and therefore didn't celebrate.

“I spent three wonderful years at Napoli. They are a great team, but had a lot of injuries and it's not easy when you have covid cases. I am confident they'll get back on track this season.

“These are three very important points, because we are not safe yet. The coach brought a sense of calm to the team, made us aware of our capabilities. Obviously, it all becomes easier when you start getting good results, but this squad has quality and the coach is getting the best out of us."
