Genoa president Enrico Preziosi has announced the sale of defender Mimmo Criscito to Zenit St Petersburg.

Criscito completed his switch to Russia today after the player failed to agree personal terms with Napoli.

"Criscito wanted to join Napoli, he really wanted to, but then there are economical aspects to take into consideration," Preziosi told Radio CRC.

"The boy wanted to leave and we decided to make him happy. We sold him to Zenit for €11m in the end."
