Genoa president Enrico Preziosi is again delaying the naming of a new coach.

He was expected to confirm Alberto Malesani in the role today, but he's asked for more time.

"You'll have to wait for a few more days and then I will reveal all," Preziosi told La Repubblica on Monday.

"Gian Piero Gasperini and Davide Ballardini are still under contract with us and their deals will cost us €5m if they don't find a new club.

"That is the reason that I have yet to announce the name of the new tactician."
