Genoa will complete the signing of Fiorentina goalkeeper Sebastien Frey this week.

The 31-year-old has agreed a five-year contract with Genoa, and will join for an undisclosed fee.

"Sebastien Frey will be the new goalkeeper of The Griffin," said a statement on Genoa's website.

"President Enrico Preziosi has reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the transfer of the French goalkeeper.

"The ratification of the deal will be completed next week after a medical.

"Frey was highly motivated to join the club and strongly wanted to be a member of The Griffin, agreeing to reduce his wages, in order to re-start his career with Genoa."
