Genoa coach Shevchenko: I must block all emotions facing AC Milan

Genoa coach Andriy Shevchenko admits facing AC Milan on Wednesday night will be emotional.

Shevchenko's Genoa hosts his former club at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.

“I will certainly be excited but right now I'm trying to block my emotions," Shevchenko said at a press conference. “I'm a professional and I have promised the fans at Genoa that I will do my best for them.

“Right now, I will do all I can to put Milan in difficulty.

“We must be very cautious and very careful. I will cheer for Milan, as always, but not in the match against Genoa."

He added: “It's true that Milan come from two defeats, but they play good football. I have watched many of their games, especially the last two.

“They are a team that plays well and creates chances."
