Genoa coach Maran ponders using Pjaca, Zappacosta for Crotone opener

Genoa coach Rolando Maran admits he may use his two latest signings in today's opener against Crotone.

On Saturday, Genoa announced that Marko Pjaca had arrived on loan from Juventus and Davide Zappacosta from Chelsea.

Maran said, “I'll speak to them and see if they can be used from the start or off the bench. Ivan Radovanovic has played in defence before and at the moment we are testing him in that role."

He continued: “There hasn't been much time to assimilate certain movements and ideas, above all because we sold seven players over the last few days, so of course it's all going to be more complicated.

“This team is continually evolving, but we need to make up for the lack of a well-drilled approach by providing a stronger mentality and spirit of sacrifice.

“We're trying to create a precise identity for this team, there's a lot of work to be done and we mustn't use the delays as an alibi. If anything, we should use people's lack of faith in us as extra motivation."
