Genoa coach Alexander Blessin was delighted after their 0-0 draw with Inter Milan.
However, Blessin admits they were fortunate to earn the point on Friday night.
"As I said before, I believe in my team and we did a really great job for the first 30 minutes, I thought at this moment we could score a goal," Blessin told Sky Italia.
“After half-time we made changes, there were injuries and the last 20 minutes were just about defending our own goal.
“It was a lucky draw, we showed a strong mentality, but I was really impressed with my team."
He added: "I don't want to talk about the past, I am here now, I impose my style and for sure we will make a lot of mistakes. We have really lost stupid balls in recent games and we have to avoid doing that, we need to control the ball and I was not happy about the many, many times we gave it away in the second half.
“When you have chances against these top teams, you need to take them."
