Genoa boss Gasperini attempts to remain upbeat in defeat

Genoa coach Gian Piero Gasperini attempted to remain upbeat after defeat to Palermo.

The 1-0 defeat at Palermo saw them slide into 14th place, a terrible haul considering their summer spending spree.

"We are struggling to score goals, but the problem is certainly not Luca Toni," said the Coach.

"The trouble is we do not often give him any service up there. My players gave their all today despite the difficulties of having so many missing.

"I would not talk about concerns in the performances, but admittedly the table does look a bit worrying.

"With the return of a few players and the quality of the football raised, we can decidedly change our path. It was reassuring that with so many strikers introduced towards the end, we still had a balance and several chances to get this game on level terms."
