Genetics degree takes back seat for Hereford striker Bauza

Hereford signing Guillem Bauza will focus his efforts on football by putting his university degree on hold. The Spanish forward signed a short-term deal with the Bulls until January having been released by Championship side Swansea last season.

The 25 year old is not your stereotypical footballer, though, and was supplementing his career with a genetics degree at Swansea university prior to the call from Simon Davey.

"I'm doing a degree in genetics, I will continue with it as much as is possible in Hereford but I don't know how I'm going to do it," he told Bulls Player.

"It's a three-month spell so I will take my time to settle first and then see if I can get the studies done.

"But now I'm focusing on my football career because I've got all my life for studying time. Football careers are short so I'm focusing on football. Of course, I don't want to stop studying so if I get the chance to do one or two subjects I will try to do that."
