The Heed ran out easy winners against Peter Beardsley's Newcastle United reserve side at the International Stadium.
The Tynesiders stormed into a 2-0 lead and could have added to the scoreline as the Magpies disappointed despite having Gael Bigirimana and Shane Ferguson in their side against the Conference outfit.
The friendly was a testimonial for long-serving defender James Curtis, who has been with Gateshead since their UniBond League days.
