Former Barcelona president Joan Gaspart has confirmed PSG refused to sell Neymar for less than €300m.

Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu pushed hard to bring the Brazil captain back to the Nou Camp, but found PSG counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi a reluctant negotiator.

Gaspart told Cadena SER: "I know that Barcelona and their president have really tried to recruit Neymar.

"PSG asked €300m right to the end. Although Neymar is an exceptional player, this could not be done for a question of dignity.

"But Barça did try to get him signed."
