New Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has promised to treat all of his players equally and vowed not to favour any of the French players at Villa Park.

Garde was announced as Villa boss on Monday and was quick to assure the squad that irrespective of his French nationality he will not be dishing out special treatment to any of his fellow countrymen.

Garde said: "My focus is the team - and the team result. I won't care more about the French players. The team is a whole team. We need to be all together."
