Fiorentina defender Alessandro Gamberini hopes they can keep hold of Adrian Mutu and Alberto Gilardino.

Both strikers have been linked with moves away this month.

"Mutu is very important for Fiorentina and for all of us in the squad," the Italy international said.

"Should we lose him then he would leave a massive hole that would need to be filled. Mutu is a player who can make the difference.

"Gilardino? They are only rumours," Gamberini smiled. "If Gila leaves then we'll go and pick him up from home and bring him back here with us…"
