Gamba Osaka knock five past Sriwijaya

Reigning Asian Champions Gamba Osaka produced their best performance of this year's competition with a 5-0 win over Indonesia's Sriwijaya. The Japanese outfit now have three wins from three outings and look set to progress to the next phase.

Leandro opened the scoring in the 39th minute when he volleyed home from close range the doubled the advantage five minutes later with a header from a Lucas cross.

Just after the re-start, things got worse for Sriwijaya when defender Ambrizal knocked one into his own net making the score 3-0.

In the 52nd minute, the contest was over when Satoshi Yamaguchi got on the end of a Yatsuhito Endo free-kick and headed home before Michihiro Yasuda found himself unmarked and hit a nice shot into the far corner to make it 5-0.
