Gamba Osaka's recent poor form in cups competitions has continued with a 3-1 loss to Yokohama F. Marinos.

The Nabisco Cup quarter-final first leg was a tight affair until the visitors managed to edge their way in front late in the piece.

Scores were 1-1 well into the second half before Yokohama's Daisuke Sakata put his side ahead in the 69th minute before Naoki Matsuda completed the win four minutes from time.
