Galatasaray have made a loan offer for Liverpool defender Nathaniel Phillips.

The Daily Mail says Liverpool have a loan proposal from Galatasaray for Phillips.

Centre back Phillips, 25, is fifth choice and has only played 65 minutes in the Premier League this season, so may be willing to leave in search of regular first-team football.

The January transfer window closes on Thursday and the Reds are willing to let him go before the deadline.

The Turkish side, who currently lead the Super Lig table by four points, are believed to be at the front of the queue for Phillips' signature.

Virgil van Dijk's injury meant he could have stayed at Anfield as cover, but young defender Rhys Williams was recalled from his loan at Blackpool.
