Gabriel moving to Arsenal for less money than offered elsewhere

Lille defender Gabriel is moving to Arsenal for less money than what he has been offered elsewhere.

The Gunners have agreed to part with around £25million to sign the Brazilian and he has agreed personal terms on a long-term contract, which is thought to be for five years.

The London Evening Standard says the Brazilian was understood to have been able to earn a greater wage elsewhere, but he was convinced to accept Arsenal's proposal after talks with Arteta and Edu last week.

Gabriel is now due in London to complete the move but, upon his arrival, he will have to quarantine for 14 days before training with his new team-mates.

As well as Gabriel, Arsenal are bolstering their backroom staff by hiring Brentford coach and set-piece specialist Andreas Georgson.
