Gabriel Jesus: Arsenal can be happy after very good season

Gabriel Jesus says Arsenal can be proud of their season after Sunday's final day 5-0 rout of Wolves.

The Brazil striker struck in the win as Arsenal finished second on the Premier League table, five points behind champions Manchester City.

Gabriel Jesus said, “It was good. Unfortunately, we didn't win a trophy which was our target, but I think we had a good season, very good.

“We are building a good atmosphere from inside and outside, the fans coming with us always supporting, pushing us. We want to come here today, enjoy and play good football like we did for 90 per cent of the season, playing good football. We won the game, and then after enjoyed it with our family and friends. Everyone is together, so it was a good day."

He continued: “Now I'll have some time with family and friends, back to Brazil to enjoy and see my family and friends, then after this holiday I'll come back focused 100 per cent to go again.

“The players who have a holiday can enjoy and have a great time with family and friends, and those who go to the national team can enjoy that a lot, then have a break after, and come back for the next season.

“I am so excited [for it]. I was a little bit unlucky about my injury, I missed a big part of the season but my mentality has always been my fitness and then to help my team, so next my main target is to be fit all season and help my team."
