Fulham are set to battle it out against Newcastle United for the signature of Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle.

With Gayle having struggled for regular first team football under Alan Pardew at Palace, it is widely believed that the striker will be leaving Selhurst Park this summer and a move to Newcastle was being stronglyy suggested.

Newcastle look set to face competition in their pursuit of Gayle though as Fulham have reportedly entered the race to sign the 25-year-old and the Cottagers are believed to be ready to splash as much as £11 million to get the deal done.
