Fulham plan to extend Diarra deal

Fulham are ready to keep hold of midfielder Mahamadou Diarra.

The Mirror says Mali international defensive midfielder Diarra joined the Cottagers in February until the end of this campaign on a free from Monaco.

But the deal included an option to keep the 30-year-old, who once cost Real Madrid £22million, for a further year.

Boss Martin Jol has been impressed by Diarra's recent displays - especially in Monday's 1-0 loss at Manchester United.
