Fulham manager Parker delighted with 'big win' over Leicester

Fulham have stunned Leicester City with a 2-1 win at the King Power Stadium on Monday.

The Cottagers have struggled since winning promotion to the Premier League, acquiring just four points in nine games.

But it wasn't the same old story against the Foxes, with Scott Parker watching his side display the resilience and determination they'll need to stay in the league beyond this season.

The visitors scored twice in eight first-half minutes, their first arriving when Ademola Lookman slotted past Kasper Schmeichel after Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa's superb run from inside his own half.

Ivan Cavaleiro then made amends for a missed penalty against Everton recently by slotting past Schmeichel from 12 yards out after Christian Fuchs' fouled Bobby Decordova-Reid.

Leicester gave themselves a chance when Harvey Barnes scored in the 86th minute, but it was too little too late for Brendan Rodgers' side, who missed the chance to go equal top.

Speaking after the game, Parker was overjoyed with Fulham's performance.

"I'm delighted with the team's efforts," Parker said. "With where we are, we're judged on our results. It was a battling display, some magnificent performances and some real quality as well.

"We're a little disappointed with the goal but in the second half, we knew we'd come under a bit of pressure but you've got to enjoy that. Our last six or seven games have been positive. This is a big win for us. We need to keep pushing and we'll keep going in the right direction."
