Fulham boss Martin Jol has made an approach for Arsenal attacker Andrey Arshavin.

The Mirror says Reading believed they could get Arshavin as Arsenal look to offload him together with Marouane Chamakh, Sebastien Squillaci and Johan Djourou in January.

But Fulham enquired last summer and remain interested with Arshavin believed to be keen on staying in London at least in the short term with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.
