Fulham keeper Stockdale: Diarra always knew we'd beat Newcastle

Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale has revealed how teammate Mahamadou Diarra told him they'd beat Newcastle United on Saturday.

Stockdale denied Papiss Cissé twice with fine stops, and from the second, Fulham scored the game's only goal as Ashkan Dejagah cut in from the left and fired past Tim Krul.

Later on, injured midfielder Diarra smugly told Stockdale he saw it coming.

"It seems when Diarra was at Real Madrid, (keeper Iker) Casillas used to say that when he made a good save the side scored," the keeper explained. "Afterwards Diarra said: 'I told you so.'"
