Fulham keeper Stockdale delighted with spotkick heroics

Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale shrugged off his heroics in their 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

Stockdale, in the team for Mark Schwarzer who continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal, was one of Fulham's heroes after saving Nani's penalty.

"It's a great feeling," said the goalkeeper. "It was guesswork. I just tried to get the lads out of the deep muck, and Brede (Hangeland) came up trumps."

Asked if he could be Schwarzer's long-term replacement, he said: "I just take it day by day."
