Fulham boss Marco Silva has heaped praise on Fabio Carvalho as he prepares to leave for Liverpool.

The young attacker will join Liverpool formally this summer after the two clubs struck terms earlier this year.

"I think he has a fantastic career ahead of him. In my opinion, he is an incredible talent," said Silva.

"Unfortunately for me, I think I came to the club a little too late. With a little more time, maybe he had extended with us.

"There have been many clubs around him, many rumours and it was really difficult for us to try to extend his contract. It is not normal for a 19-year-old that from the start of the season he has a lot of rumours around him from clubs around Europe.

"He never lost focus, he let other people take care of it and he helped our club return to the Premier League. For a 19-year-old, it is a fantastic message and I think he has all the qualities to perform at a high level and continue to improve.

"Unfortunately he will not wear our shirt next season but I wish him all the best."
