Fulham boss Ranieri hails Mitrovic for stunning Brighton win

Fulham boss Claudio Ranieri hailed his players after their stunning 4-2 win over Brighton.

Ranieri's side had trailed 2-0 at half-time, but Calum Chambers' sweetly-struck volley gave the Cottagers hope early in the second half before Aleksandar Mitrovic's brace put Fulham in front for the first time in the match.

Luciano Vietto got the hosts' fourth after Tom Cairney's long-range effort had cannoned off the crossbar.

Ranieri said afterwards, "I did not imagine this. It was great to score in the second half, and the reaction was unbelievable.

"I watched a very good fighting spirit. They want to survive.

"Mitrovic is a goalscorer. He plays this way, covers the ball, fights for every ball and gives spirit to everybody.

"It's a little step but we are alive, which is very important. We know nothing is done, but we are a little more confident that something could happen."
