Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic admits his players were handed a dose of reality after an opening day defeat to Crystal Palace.
The Whites returned to the top flight after four years with a lot of excitement following over £100million worth of investment in the side this summer, but were brought back down to earth with goals from Jeffrey Schlupp and Wilfried Zaha, having failed to take advantage of their first-half dominance.
“I can be satisfied with the level and we are disappointed with this result and we want to make fans happy," Jokanovic said.
“We found a great atmosphere and the Premier League is back after four years.
“[A] tough job is ahead of us and we must be optimistic and show we can be brave and we weren't shy.
“We created chances and we had 15 shots. This is part of the statistics and we do some interesting things during the game too."
