Fulham boss Hughes admits Arsenal have unsettled Schwarzer

Fulham boss Mark Hughes has told Mark Schwarzer he wants the experienced goalkeeper to stay.

Arsenal put in a £2million bid for the Fulham shot-stopper - which was exactly the same as the one they lodged in May.

New boss Sparky said: "There are plenty of things agents and managers can do to unsettle players.

"Mark's aware of the interest from Arsenal and that's disrupting and a distraction.

"There has been no improved offer and we won't encourage one."

Schwarzer, 37, is desperate to be allowed to replace Manuel Almunia at the Emirates.

Hughes added: "He's been presented with an opportunity but I must protect our ambitions."
