FSV Frankfurt's Leckie joins Ingolstadt

Mathew Leckie has completed the signing of a contract with FC Ingolstadt.

The 23-year old Australian attacker will depart current club FSV Frankfurt in June to take up a three-year deal with Ingolstadt for a reported fee of €750,000 after a successful season in the 2.Bundesliga.

The former Adelaide United star scored 10 goals and provided nine assists for FSV in his first full season with the club after his initial loan spell from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012/13.

He will now, however, continue his career with Ingolstadt who finished 10th in Germany's second tier this term while FSV were three positions and points behind in 13th.

"I want to personally take the next step and Ingolstadt is an ambitious club that offers me this opportunity," Leckie said in an Ingolstadt club statement.

Leckie, who has cut short his deal with FSV to join Ingolstadt, told the Frankfurt club's official website: "I had a great two years at FSV Frankfurt.

"I was able to develop in the 2.Bundesliga. I thank the team, the coaching staff and the whole club. I look forward to a reunion with FSV in the next season."
