Serie A new-boys Frosinone are moving for Aston Villa midfielder Alexander Tonev.

Sportitalia says Frosinone are now in advanced negotiations with Villa for the Bulgaria international.

Tonev spent last season with Celtic on-loan and has been told to find a new club by Villa this summer.

Frosinone are keen to make a major signing in the coming days and have focused on Tonev.

For his part, Tonev is keen on a move to Serie A.
