Friends say N'Golo Kante wanted to be certain about safety measures before returning to training at Chelsea.
The midfielder was back at Cobham yesterday - only after missing the first days of the resumption of training due to coronavirus concerns.
A friend of Kante's explained to L'Equipe, "He needs to feel that the situation is secure enough to return to a normal lifestyle.
"He was anxious to respect all the provisions necessary to protect his health."
Kante's health concerns involve him losing his older brother Niama to a heart attack just weeks before the 2018 World Cup.
