Freiburg insist Newcastle United failed to meet their asking price for Papiss Demba Cisse.
Freiburg sporting director Dirk Dufner rejects claims they moved the goal posts in the final days of the summer market.
"For starters, Newcastle United's offer was not high enough in our opinion and secondly, it was impossible for us to adequately deal with his departure so short for the transfer window closed," Dufner said to Kicker.
